"The way to ensure that you will always have enough is to forget about the money and concentrate instead on giving of yourself emotionally..."

For many years I have been on a journey to learn how to make the most of my life on this earth spiritually, financially, physically and in relationships. I believe that money is an important part of this journey and I want to understand all I can about it.

Struggle is not natural and requires very hard work. It's not our God given nature and Stuart identifies the differences between effort and struggle which oftentimes look the same. Stuart also talks about how money is a symbol of our mastery and comprehension of life's great journey. I believe that!

He also does an amazing job helping the reader connect the dots between money, energy, giving, receiving and identifying how to attract more of it through our actions and results. I found this book very easy to follow through the concepts, metaphysics and actions found in each chapter.

He gives exact actions to take and I must say I did every single one from the candles to writing down the lists. highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to attract more money and wants the action plan on how to do it.

The metaphysics of money.

I find Stuart Wilde a bit of mixed bag.. I found some of his lessons interesting. I also found some of them not terribly realistic or easy to implement. Some are simply common sense. I think most of know we are supposed to pay our bills. Like a lot of millionaires who give financial advice, his advice is not of much use to the person trying rise up in a world slanted against them. If you want to increase your prosperity using the Law of Attraction, read "Feel It Real" by Denise Coates. Or Ask and It is Given by Esther Hicks. Much better reads.

Inspiring! It's about more than money.

I happened upon Stuart's books about six months ago. I think you find the important things you need in your life only when you are ready for them. This book gives great information about the use of the law of attraction. It also helps you sort through your negative emotions, past experiences and destructive ego to get to what will really bring you fulfillment and happiness. This isn't just a book about money, it's a philosophy for living a good, contributing life that will bring you personal and spiritual fulfillment. Thank you Stuart for the inspiration when I needed it most in my life.

A Pleasing Continuation

I almost gave this book three stars instead of four, but I didn't think that was quite enough. This is the continuation of "I Promise To......" and in most ways it does continue the story, but for some inexplicable reason, the author chose to ignore that Elizabeth was pregnant at the end of the first book, and that Wickam had already been caught robbing Mr. Darcy and sent to Canada. It's a sweet story, but with little drama to make you need to keep turning pages. It is also well edited, which counts for much in these P&P fanfiction books which are often deplorably written. So I'm judging it by the standards of the vast majority of these books and feel that it holds its own against them. It's a pleasant read for a cozy afternoon.

Promises Kept: A Pride and Prejudice Novel Variation

This book is a continuation of her first book, I Promise To. Elizabeth and Darcy's love continue to grow throughout this story. Elizabeth is happy to have the support of her new family when her first season with members of the ton, especially the daughters of titled heritage that thought Fitzwilliam Darcy was theirs. George Darcy may not been titled, but had more clout than most of the titled group with more money and property. The fact that he kept friends that were in trade and allowed his son to marry a niece of a tradesman, unnerved some members of the first circle. After cutting families from their acquaintance, most parents started reining in their hateful daughters and their remarks. Miss. Bennet was as hateful as ever and even when Lydia and Jane supported Lizzy, she still was harping at her when Darcy and Papa Darcy overheard her. Joining forces again, the two defenders forbid her access to the Darcy properties while openly invited the rest of the family. Horrid mother in this story, more so than in Jane Austen's original. Happy ending for our loving couple and their family and friends.

You will not be disappointed with this sequel

As with this author's other variations, this one was well-written and well-developed. It was a highly satisfying completion to the story started in the first part of the series, I Promise To. You will not be disappointed with this sequel. However, I took one star away because I thought the book over-priced for a Kindle version of a P&P variation. This is no reflection on the content or quality of the work this author puts out.

Disorganized, repetitive

Required to purchase this book for OT school. I typically enjoy reading, especially when it's relevant to my profession. HOWEVER, this book is EXTREMELY disorganized and repetitive. You will be reading about one thing in one section, only for it to be repeated in another. It's not like it EXPANDS on the topic, it just repeats itself. Also, when discussing about chronological order of certain things, it'll go from youngest to oldest (children's age) for expected behaviors then switch it up in another chapter and go from oldest to youngest (children's age). Extremely confusing---not a book I will be keeping.

not an easy read

Although this text book is a great resource, it is FULL of grammatical and spelling errors and is extremely repetitive. I am very confused as to how the 6th edition of this book could have so many simple errors in it-it needs to be proofread!

A Must-Read Parenting Book!

I don't often rave about parenting books because everybody has their own style of parenting and every kid is different. There is a reason there are thousands of parenting books on the market. However, this one stands alone! I only got this because it was required reading for our adoption agency, but I am SO glad it was.

Though there are times when I wished the author had gone into greater detail (especially on the nutrition chapter), this book does a great job of providing parents with MANY tools that I feel every parent can benefit from. It is geared toward adopted/abused children, but I really felt like it pertained a lot about my biological children as well. This book can give you a sense of control especially with stubborn, strong-willed children. I speak from experience. I don't know which is more helpful, the tools offered by this book or the sense of having options. I don't think you can go wrong with this book!

A really helpful resource

I adopted a child at birth who is now 9. She has since been diagnosed with a mood disorder--probably bi-polar. The Connected Child was as helpful to me as Ross Greene's books about the Explosive Child. I learned something new from every chapter, especially the last few chapters on Dealing with Defiance, Nurturing at Every Opportunity and Proactive Strategies to Make Life Easier. Simple suggestions made by the authors, such as watching for signs of overload, speaking with authority, rehearsing the child for what's coming, helping your child identify emotions, among many others have stuck with me. I've even used them successfully. The book is written simply and clearly, easy to skim through to find sections that apply to your situation. I highly recommend this book. Erica Manfred

Best Adoption Book Ever

I have read a LOT of books about adoption. This was the only one that changed my life and the way I relate to my kids. The first time I read it, it was too hard for me to read and I had to put it down (I felt too much guilt, because I was doing everything wrong and had already made so many mistakes). When I was finally able to give myself some grace, I tried it again- and now I read it over and over again, sometimes daily if I need it. It's so practical, which is unlike most adoption books I've read. It tells you exactly what to do in disciplinary or tense situations. I feel empowered after reading it, and feel a flood of sympathy for my firstborn, who was adopted from South Korea at nine months. I can't rave about this book enough.

Highway to Heaven for Vespa-holics!!

As a confirmed "Vespa-holic" [I currently own a Vespa Granturismo. Earlier, I have owned both a Vespa ET-4 and a Vespa ET-2], this is the BEST coffee table book I have EVER seen on my beloved scooter family by Piaggio. Wonderful, documented history. Great photography. This tome oozes quality. Moreover, it is an outstanding price-value at the debut cost which is far below that of some of its lesser predecessors. This is not a mechanic's guide to the repairs or restoration of the Vespa. As the sub-title reads: "style in motion." If you are lucky enough to already possess a Vespa, you will want this book for the center piece of your library. If you are not yet fortunate to be a Vespa owner, this volume is a "must have" as your shopping guide to the various models before you make your final scooter purchase decision. Happy Scootering!

Great Value, but...

I've never written a review for Amazon before, but after buying this book and reading it cover to cover, I felt compelled to air my criticisms somewhere. Overall, I thought that it is one of the best books on the subject.

Being a Vespa owner, I was really impressed with the technical content and COLOR photos. It's the essays and figure captions that irritated me. The figure captions were frequently so vague that I couldn't tell which picture they were referring to, which is a problem because they are not co-located with the picture.

Also, many of the essays were really hard to understand, frequently too short (when they were interesting) or too long (when they were boring) and presumed a lot of knowledge of Italian 20th century history. So, I failed to get the point of many of them.

Believe me, I read these articles very closely trying very hard to get the author's point, but many of them were written in an artsy style, which was almost incomprehensible at times. So, it could be very frustrating to read. I can only conclude that they were translated from Italian and something was lost along the way.

All that being said, I still think it is worth the price for the photos and technical articles.

A book worthy of its subject

I rarely give 5 stars to a product, but this one is flawless. I bought this book to learn about the various vintages of Vespa so I could make an informed choice when buying one. Given the beauty of this scooter, I wanted a book of similar quality, and I was not disappointed.

This book has explained everything about the company and its products together with their long history of excellence in an easy to read, beautifully laid out volume. I now know which Vespa I want: ALL OF THEM!

A very good solid "introduction" to Philosophy. Highly recommended.

Solid introduction but some sections and the way the subject matter is described is somewhat convoluted. Perhaps this is true of all "introduction" books since it will always will be almost impossible to precisely understand what philosophers that lived a long time ago originally really meant to say precisely unless you are able to ask for clarification on a subject matter like Philosophy which is by nature a very difficult and challenging subject (but very rewarding) to understand completely The language of their descriptions will in many ways remain shrouded in mystery. This is especially true when authors (even the best and most talented philosophers) attempt to translate original philosophical texts of the great Philosophy masters not just into English but also in way to make the subject matter easy for the novice to comprehend. It seems like an almost impossible tasks but Dr. Scrunton succeeds with spectacular results in many areas in his wonderful book but is less somewhat successful in other areas.

The original meaning and context of what is written in the original text will never be exactly the same in English and vice versa. Short of learning the original language of the Great Philosophers, this is best and the closest that a lay person will ever come to being able to understand the subject of Philosophy which has brought me so much joy throughout the years and has expanded my mind immensely to understanding myself, people, things, and the world in so many different contexts too numerous and difficult to explain in this review. Dr. Scrunton makes a unapproachable topic more palatable to digest in more delicious bite size morsels. A great book on a very complicated topic. Modern Philosophy is a great "intro" to really understand what Philosophy is and what it is all about. Highly recommended.

The present book is an outstanding contribution to the unsuspecting student fearing the worst and found herself (sic!) confronted by this little jewel! If your even THINKING about reading it BUY IT now!

Among the Very Best Overviews

This books leaves me with mixed emotions. On the positive side, it's the only book I know of its kind, covering almost every topic of modern philosophy. And, for the most part, it is highly accessible and remarkably clear (philosophy of language can be opaque, but that's inherent in the field). On the con side, not enough attention is paid to ethics and politics (Scruton himself is somewhat of a conservative/communitarian), and the topic of aesthetics could have been more informative. Another con is that Scruton tells the reader in advance that his own opinion will seep into the discussion, but that he'll designate it as such. Well, yes, his opinion does creep in, but it's rarely distinguished as his own. Yet, for all these quibbles, I cannot imagine a better introduction to the discipline of philosophy as it is practiced in Anglo-American circles - but without the arcane and often obtuse language. It is remarkably broad in scope, accurate in depiction, clearly mapped, and fairly thorough for an overview. If one wants an introduction into how Angophone philosophy is practiced, I cannot recommend a better book.
