This Is Not The One To Miss......

Carrie seems to be completely all over the place considering that when she went to view Ben's property for his club that they ending up sleeping together, she wasn't used to this at all considering that she was now newly single. Also the fact that she had agreed to be Ben's fake girlfriend just to show his dad that he can be responsible she honestly has no idea what she has let herself in for. Even though she knows deep down inside that she shouldn't have slept with him she honestly can't help the fact that she liked it way more than she was expecting to, plus she can't seem to get their whole encounter out of her mind.

Ben's connection with his dad Will is starting to get a lot better and even though they have their banter Ben is quite happy with how everything is turning out even though he still refuses to speak to his mother. When Will mentions that he should speak to his mother has been hounding his inbox constantly just because Ben refuses to speak her, he is not exactly happy because he thought by now she would have taken the hint but obviously not.
Will is pretty impressed by the fact that Ben has a girlfriend and when he casually brings it up Ben honestly couldn't be more proud of Carrie and he is shocked that his dad approves of her.

Carrie is shocked when Ella asks to meet up with her as she wants her help to plan her wedding even though it's in two weeks but as they are talking ideas and all Carrie gets the biggest shock when Ella asks her if she wouldn't mind being a bridesmaid for her considering one of her friends can't be there to do it. After a bit of persuasion Carrie agrees to it and is happy for a chance to learn a bit more about Ben so when Ella accidently mentions that he's been through what she has considering when he was over in England he had a girlfriend that cheated on him and the fact that she is the first girl that Ben has taken seriously since then is a massive step for him. Carrie can hardly believe what's being told but she keeps it at her heart.

Carrie seems to be getting into doing all the designing for Ben's club and she is loving all the ideas that she is coming up with for it, so when Ben does decide to surprise her at work she is even more happy even though she is struggling to keep everything professional. So when Ben takes her to get her fitted for her bridesmaids dress she can't keep the tears back as she was really looking forward to when she was going to get married herself but now that she isn't it's all a bit much for her. Ben seems to notice the discomfort in her eyes and this is where they both seem to connect more than they realise, it means a lot to Carrie as they both share such an intimate moment.

It's the day of Will's and Ella's wedding and even though Carrie is part of the wedding now as being a bridesmaid, will both Ben and Carrie be able to pull off their fake relationship or will they get more than they bargained for. Also how will Carrie react when she meets Ben's mother, will it be a memorable moment or one that everyone wishes they could forget.

Trust me when I say that every time I read a book in this series, it's amazing. The story is so deep and meaningful, you really should give it a try as you will be glad that you did. Those of you that are Hazel Kelly fans, you already know how good her books are so if you haven't read this series yet you are seriously missing out.

Very light hearted and not too dramatic

These two characters Ben and Carrie are very good together. They seem to know what each other wants, only Ben tests the waters.
This book is more interesting as the books go on. I love they play back and forth.
Oh and the love scene in the hotel was sweet and funny after they finally made it to the bed.
MS. Kelly sure writes with feeling in her books and I really feel each character as I meet them. I keep wondering when the shoe will fall and Ben or Carrie was dreaming because something is going to change where their true feelings come out.
I can't wait to read book 4
I recommend this book series It is not so dramatic as some romance books and leaves me smiling when I ended it

Major cliffhanger but the most exciting book so far.....lots of suprises.

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Definitely a shocker!!!! Out of the 3 so far in this series this was probably my favorite. To say a major cliffhanger is an understatement. The end of this book will leave with only two feelings: firstly omg omg omg omg you have got to be kidding me and secondly is the second book out yet?
HK definitely will leave you hanging with this book but what a phenomenal way to keep the story going.
I love how Carrie and Ben are getting closer and really enjoying themselves although it's technically a "fake" relationship. Ben and Carrie both have really strong feelings for the other and why they don't just go ahead a lay all their cards out is beyond me.
I really dislike Ben's mom: firstly because of her cheating on her husband to begin with because a cheater is pathetic and someone I can't stand. To know someone cheated on someone makes me sick too like Ben....I have been there myself and secondly to know she would do that to someone supposedly happy is even more sickening it don't matter what Simon was thinking she should have stood her ground and said He must break up with her first before I pursue a relationship with You once she found out. Carrie needs to realize Ben had nothing to do with it or at least let him tell her that. I could understand it being difficult to be around his mother but she could just avoid them like the plague just as Ben is doing by pretty much wanting to disown her and never speak to her again. I loved the theme of the wedding of Will and Ella. Love the whole winter wonderland theme....really sweet and romantic. I am excited for book 4 to be released to see how Ben handles his mom and Simon and what happens next.

The novel’s heroine, Celestina, abandoned as a child in a French convent, becomes an independent, witty, and accomplished elegiac poet who, in a reversal of the usual pattern of the courtship novel, acts as a mentor to several men in her life. Written at the beginning of the French Revolution, Smith’s novel depicts characters challenging both corrupt authority and conventional morality, exemplifying her hope that English society was on the verge of a great change for the better.

This Broadview edition includes a critical introduction and primary source material relating to the novel’s reception, its political contexts (writings by Reverend Richard Price, Edmund Burke, Mary Wollstonecraft, and Thomas Paine), and the author’s life.

I ran across Charlotte Smith when I was looking up Ann Radcliffe on another website. She took up writing to support herself and her children. Her husband was a deadbeat in debt. She not only influenced Radcliffe, but also Jane Austen. This is the first book I have read by her, and you can tell in what ways she influenced Radcliffe. Radcliffe perfected her descriptions of nature and landscape in The Mysteries of Udolpho. Smith too paints very dramatic scenes in Celestina. I would also place her among the romantic gothic writers.
Celestina was dropped off at a convent in France as an infant under secrecy. An English woman adopts her. Her son grows up with her and falls in love with her. On his mother's death bed, she wants him to marry his cousin to save the estate. (His deceased father was deeply in debt.) He is torn between his love of Celestina and his love of the estate and his promise to his mother. He decides to marry Celestina, but right before they are to be united, he gets an unsettling note and leaves to find out whether the contents are true or false. The answer will permit him to either marry Celestina or not. Their are lots of gossip and waging tongues, a lack of communication, and there are mysteries to be solved. It does not disappoint. If you like Ann Radcliffe, Jane Austen, and even Frances Burney, you will love Charlotte Smith.

Within 15 seconds, the conflagration was over, but the damage the nuclear experiment unleashed on the Marshall Islands would last generations. It is from this dramatic focal point that Wargo, a Yale University professor, paints his distressing landscape of modern ecology, further coloring it with the histories of three other pernicious practices that have changed the chemistry of the planet and our bodies: the use of modern-day pesticides, the consumption of vehicle emissions and the widespread adoption of plastics. About the Author
John Wargo is Professor of Risk Analysis, Environmental Policy, and Political Science at Yale University and Chair of the Yale College Environmental Studies Major and Program. He holds appointments in the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the Department of Political Science. He has been a member of EPA's Scientific Advisory Panel on Pesticides and advisor to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, the Vice President's office, several EPA administrators and the U.N.'s World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization. Green Intelligence Creating Environments that Protect Human Health won the 2010 Independent Publishers Award in Environment, Ecology and Nature and the Connecticut Book Award for non-fiction. Excellent Overview Book, Great Price, Nice Emphasis on Public Information Gaps

I like this book. It is not as detailed as any of the following but does a super job of blending together in a very easy to read manner coverage of five areas: nuclear testing, military contamination of training areas, pesticides, vehicle emissions, and plastics.

This book would normally have been a four on the substnace of the five domains, especially if one is looking for more in-depth appreciations, but I found the Notes and the Index satisfactory, and the intelligence-information perspective that this author makes a special effort to address carries the book most easily to a solid five.

Highlights from my fly-leaf notes:

Good Introduction/Overview to Environmental Contamination/Health

This book is great. It reminded me of Zinn's A People's History of the US except from an environmental policy perspective. Zinn starts his foray with Native Americans watching white explorers pull up to their shores(we all know how that turned out for them) and moves on to untold details of America's decision to bomb Japan in WWII. Wargo similarly starts his narrative with the US military forcing natives off their land in the remote pacific in order to test their nuclear arsenal. From there it is just unsugarcoated anecdote after another ranging from misinformed neglect up through preventable atrocities involving human contamination. At the tail end it shifts into plans to map out a better future for environmental health. If you don't think our unsafe environmental direction and chemical risk is so much an issue of tragedy of the commons but rather a tragedy of common ignorance and common denial then this is recommended text for you and your peers, a fast read that can easily be slipped into the holes that now lay occupied by the heads of ostriches.

Adequate but outdated review of medical imagining

The second page of my copy of this book states:

Reprinted 1995, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003

This is pretty much the same text published in 1988 (after corrections)

So:

Fuzzy 80's CT scan illustrations

Nothing on fat suppression, or more modern image acquisition sequences in the "Nuclear Magnetic Imaging" chapter

Definitely no mention of harmonic ultrasound

Many anachronistic references to 'future technological improvements'

I am not sure whether the publisher's reluctance to update this book represents apathy or avarice, but the failure to more frequently revise a textbook in such a rapidly changing area relegates this book from serious consideration as a primary textbook.

Some chapters are quite clear and complete (for example X-ray) but overall the writng style is a little obtuse.

In summary- some good chapters but outdated, stylistically hum-drum and superceded by the numerous other texts in this area.

LONNIE C. LUDEMAN, PhD, received his doctorate from Arizona State University and is Professor Emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at New Mexico State University. In 1993, he was a Fulbright Scholar at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is the author of Fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing, which won Choice magazine's award for Outstanding Engineering Book of the Year.

Way to many errors

This book has an excellent choice of topics, use of figures, and numerous well presented examples. It would be an excellent book, except it has so many errors it is almost useless. I am working though the early chapters and examples as a refresher, since I am familiar already with this material, and have found errors in almost every section. Often the errors are subtle, an exponent missing here or an incorrect integration bound there, including in key equations, making them very difficult to find if you don't already know the material and are willing to work through it in detail. I have completely lost confidence in the book. When I go to later chapters, which are new material to me, I never know if my misunderstanding is the result of my missing something or Ludeman's unbelievably sloppy production. Hopefully he will come out with a second edition, and actually bother to proofread it.
