A de-facto error

I have collected World Almanacs for 65 years and got my new 2017 today. As a city-growth hobbyist for all that time, I looked up city growth and found to my utter chagrin that the editors had reversed the populations for Seattle and Detroit, showing Seattle as declining from 1,849,568 in 1950 to 684,451 in 2015 while Detroit grew from 415,786 in 1950 to 677,116 in 2015. I know how difficult editing all those numbers can be, but if you can't trust the World Almanac, then what is the world coming to. :~

Get Smart!

This book has just about anything you want to know about the past year, plus a lot of other interesting facts from years past, such as the daily use of cigarettes by 8th, 10th, and 11th graders from 1995-2015. Everything is well indexed. It is fascinating reading even if you are not looking for anything in particular, and one can surprise people with interesting facts you have and liven up a conversation!

Good info, tiny print

It's crammed full of information, which I expected because I've bought previous editions. The print is so darn tiny though. I guess that's necessary in order to keep it to one volume. The tiny print makes it difficult to read. If you are a political junkie, it has county-by-county results for the 2016 election. I like having a lot of information on a variety of topics at my fingertips.
